If you have any anti spyware/malware removal tools, along with antivirus, I would suggest updating those and using them. Also, if you have mozilla firefox, use that instead of internet exploder.

If your current virus scan finds nothing try this http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/d...d=ie&venid=sym

or this
http://us.mcafee.com/root/mfs/default.asp

They will tell you what you have on your system, although they cant delete them for you. You can easily google it afterwards and remove it manually.

Did these popups start after Linda Heartilly told you to register that *.dll file? I bet so. :P As said in my other reply to you:

You'll want to download the Anti-Malware Pro package and follow these directions (select the Anti-Malware Pro package) in order to check your system and remove all of the found malicious items. Should you need any help, feel free to post for assistance.

I'd also try these two, in addition to the ones mentioned above. Sometimes different programs pick up different problems. So if one misses something then the other may catch it.

Spybot: Search and Destroy. - http://www.spybot.info/

Ad-Aware - http://www.lavasoft.de/default.shtml.en

I use those two once a week at least, and to date have not had one single problem.

Check the Anti-Malware package, they hold those and a few other needed applications.

No offense meant here; but how much do you really know about computers?

You tell about Spyware Blaster, Ad-Aware and Spybot, but nothing on how to configure and scan with them? Things like CWShredder, About:Blaster, HijackThis, ewido and a few other applications are very much needed and useful for preventing and cleaning malware infections. Trust me, I do this on a daily basis to many machines.

Limiting a web browser's cache to 2MB is not recommended either. You slow down performance of the web browser because it has to manually redownload things very often. That's in no way a good thing, especially if malware sets the browser homepage (or search page) to a malicious download. It just keeps getting downloaded every time. Anyone could tell you; that's not good.

Yes. I know about both things you mentioned. It's kind of meant for people with broadband, which I guess I neglected to mention on my page.

Yes, the cache shouldn't be low for people with slow connections. I've always had problems when I have it more than 5 MB even on computers at my school which has a slow service once it gets to be past 9:30am (but that's another animal).

On the applications I said to use, well I just got lazy there and decided not to write guide for them. And yes, I do know about HT and CWShredder. Again, I just didn't mention them. Won't take much to put them in there though.

So, you're going to tell people to set their cache to a lower setting; which means it will get cleaned once it hits that limit of 2MB and they will then have to redownload it. That doesn't help people on dialup or slow connections at all.

Riplox, Run Spell checker on your website... lol.

anyways, as Tarun has said here, Setting the browser cache too 2 megs is NOT recommended. and a Value of about 50 megs is usually default on most browsers.

The reason behind this is that it causes your browser to redownload a website you're viewing. and this causes stress on both your internet connection and the connection of the server.

take for example guildwarsguru.com... as of right now it is about 452KB that has to be redownloaded everytime you visit insted of about 62KB if you already have all the pictures and stuff cached.

back on topic, Download and follow the steps in Tarun's Anti-Malware package and follow the instructions. Tarun is known for doing Mal-Ware Removal and Protection on forums such as www.msfn.org www.ccleaner.com (stopped due to ccleaner embedding yahoo toolbar) and and his own site at www.lunarsoft.net (i'm sure i missed some lol but all i could remember right now.)
